Our heat stress forecast

South Sudan Meteorological Services has introduced a new Heat Stress (Heat Index) product to help users understand when hot conditions may become dangerous for health and work. The product provides maps and outlook information highlighting areas where heat stress is expected to reach “Extreme Caution” levels, meaning prolonged exposure may lead to heat exhaustion and, in severe cases, heat stroke. It also helps users anticipate peak heat-stress days and plan simple protective actions (hydration, reducing exposure, and close monitoring of vulnerable groups). The heat stress maps are included in the weekly outlook bulletin.
