Heat Stress highlights
- Based on the heat index, forecasts indicate the number of days within the respective week when the heat index falls into the extreme caution category.
- The forecast also shows that most parts of the country experienced elevated heat stress above 34°C. the highest intensity with dark red at eastern, southeastern, and central parts of South Sudan, with up to 7-9 days of heat stress during 18-25 Feb 2026.
Forecast for 18 to 25 February 2026
- Light rainfall (less than 10 mm) is expected over Western Bahar el Gazal, Western Equatoria, the southern part of Central &Eastern Equatoria, Lake State and Southern parts of Warrap State.
- The average temperatures are expected to be warmer, ranging between 24 and 36°C in most parts of South Sudan
The hottest conditions are expected on 18, 19, 20, 24, 25 and 26 February 2026
